Why are my images upside down or rotated?

If you've uploaded an image to Qwilr but it's not displaying in the correct orientation, here's how to fix that.

Image files, especially those taken with cell phones, contain metadata called EXIF data. This data basically tells devices that although the image was taken with a particular orientation, it should actually display with a different orientation.

Qwilr doesn't support EXIF data, so if you've uploaded a photo and it's appearing rotated in your page, that's likely why.

To correct the rotation, you'll want to open that image in a photo editing application, rotate it correctly, and save. From there, upload to Qwilr and it will appear correctly.

Note: Some photo editing software, like Photoshop, will read the EXIF data and rotate the image for you. In that case, you'd just need to save the image and the corrected rotation will also save.
