FAQ: Can I translate the Quote Block?
You can modify the labels in the Quote Block to reflect your local language. You can also use this tool to rename the sections of your quote.
In this article:
The Quote Block contains a number of labels, including these:
- Section
- Total
- Subtotal
- Excluding Tax
- Discount
- Off
- Description
- Item
- Quantity
- Price
You can change any of the labels with the Language Override tool. It's great for translating to other languages, or for renaming certain fields of your quote so they better express your business model.
Note: Changing the label of a field won't change the way it calculates.
Creating a new label set
Step 1. Head to the top left corner of your Quote Block and click the Block Options icon (3 dots). Then select Language Overrides.
Step 2. Click on Edit & manage overrides. You'll be taken to your language settings. If you're adding your first override, the screen will prompt you to add a new label set.
Step 3. A list of the existing labels will appear, and each one will have a field where you can enter your translation (or alternate label). Click Done to save your new labels.
Note: You don't have to enter a translation for every label. If you leave a field blank, then the default label continues to display along with the labels you've translated.
Step 4. Once you've created a new set of labels, head back to the Language Overrides menu. Use the drop down menu to choose the label set you want to apply to your quote.
Once you've done that, you'll see your translations in place in the Quote Block.
Editing an existing label set
To edit an existing label set, head back to the Language Overrides section. Then click Edit next to the label set you want to update.
