Adding alt text to your images

When you add an image to a Qwilr Page, you can also assign some alternative (alt) text. That allows screen reader tools to describe the image verbally.

You can add alt text to both new image uploads and existing images in your page.

To get started, click on the image to bring up its toolbar. Then click on the Add Alt Text icon.

From there, add your image description and hit Enter.

Note: Here's a guide for writing alt text descriptions.

Disabling alt text for specific images

Some images in your page might be purely decorative, and not need a description. In that case, you can follow the steps above and then enable the Image is Decorative switch. That will cause screen reader software to ignore this image.
