Qwilr MCP

You can connect your Qwilr account to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other AI tools that support MCP. Once it's connected, you can ask it to find a page, check how a proposal is performing, create a new page from a template, or pull your pipeline numbers, all without opening Qwilr.

Note: During the Early Access period, we waived the cost of creating pages via the MCP. With the official launch of the feature, page creation will now draw down on document automation credits.

Creating pages via the MCP is only possible if you’re on one of our new plans (Starter, Growth or Scale), and each of these annual plans comes with a set number of free document automations.

In this article:

What is MCP?

MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is a standard way for AI tools to connect to the apps you already use. Once you connect the Qwilr MCP to your AI assistant, it can look things up in your Qwilr account and take actions for you, but only after you've logged in and permitted it, and only within your own account.

What you can do with it

  • Find your pages. Search by name or keyword, or filter by status, owner, tags, or how engagement level
  • Create pages from templates. See your templates, check what variables need filling in, and create a new page filled in for a prospect, all in one step.
  • Share and publish. Get any link for a page: the live link, the editor link, the PDF and the collaborator link. Publish a draft, or take a live page and set it back to draft to take it offline.
  • Track performance. See who's viewed a page, how long they spent on each section, and how engaged they are. Pull a pipeline report by status, over any date range and currency.
  • Keep things tidy. Archive, restore, or delete pages you don't need anymore, or mark a page as accepted or declined on a buyer's behalf.

Note: Creating pages from existing templates via the MCP is only possible on our new plans and will typically draw on document automation credits. We're waiving that cost for the Early Access period, so it's free to try.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A Qwilr account
  • An AI tool that supports remote MCP servers. This is usually called a "connector" or "MCP server" in your tool's settings. Claude (web, desktop, or Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor and many AI tools support this, though setup steps and requirements vary

Connecting your AI tool

The exact steps vary a little by tool, but the idea is the same everywhere: add the server URL, then log in and allow access when asked.

Server URL: https://mcp.qwilr.com

Tool Where to add it
Claude (web or desktop) Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector, then paste in https://mcp.qwilr.com
Claude Code Run claude mcp add --transport http --scope user qwilr https://mcp.qwilr.com
ChatGPT Settings > Apps & Connectors > Advanced > enable Developer Mode > Add custom connector. Requires a paid tier + developer mode
Cursor

Settings > MCP > Add new MCP server. Add a name, and then the Qwilr MCP server into the mcpServers object. It should look like:

{

"mcpServers": {

"qwilr": {

"url": "https://qwilr.com"

}

}

}

VS Code (Copilot Chat) Command Palette > MCP: Add Server      > HTTP > enter https://mcp.qwilr.com      (Or add directly to .vscode/mcp.json    )
Codex CLI Add to ~/.codex/config.toml     : [mcp_servers.qwilr]      / url = "https://mcp.qwilr.com"     , then run codex mcp login qwilr
Codex desktop Settings > MCP servers > Add server > Name: Qwilr, Transport: Streamable HTTP, URL: https://mcp.qwilr.com      > Save > Authenticate

Note: Once you've added the MCP, you'll be asked to log in with your normal Qwilr login details to allow access. After that, Qwilr shows up as a connected tool, ready to use.

Not every AI tool supports remote MCP servers yet. If you can't find this setting, check with the tool's own support team.

Try it out

Here are a few things you can ask once you're connected:

What you want Try asking
Find a page "Find every page with "[keyword]" in the title or tags and give me view counts and last-viewed dates"
Create from a template "Create a new page from my Enterprise Proposal template for Jane Smith at Acme Corp, using information from my [CRM record link]."
Check engagement "Who's viewed the Acme Corp proposal, and how long did they spend on the pricing section?"
Get a shareable link "Give me the live link for my Acme Corp proposal so I can send it over."
Check your pipeline "Show me my pipeline value in USD for pages that went live this quarter."
Tidy up "Archive all of my declined pages from last year."

Good to know

  • Looking things up is always safe. Finding pages, checking analytics, or grabbing a link never changes anything.
  • Changes ask for your okay first. Creating, publishing, archiving, or deleting a page will always ask you to confirm before it happens.
  • Deleting can be undone. A deleted page goes to Deleted Items for 30 days, just like deleting from your dashboard. It's not gone for good and can be restored within that timeframe. After 30 days, however, the page will be permanently cleared from your Qwilr account and will no longer be recoverable.
  • Accepting a page can't be undone. Double-check the page before you confirm that one.
  • It can only do what you can do. The Qwilr MCP uses the same role and permissions as the account you log in with, and it only ever sees your own account.

What's not possible today with the Qwilr MCP

We are actively working on the Qwilr MCP, and some common requests that aren't yet possible include:

  • Edit a page that has already been created
  • Edit the quote/pricing on a page that has already been created
  • Find pages via the user's team
  • Generate a page via unstructured content (pages can only be generated via a pre-created template and only the variables can be filled in)

FAQ

Do I need an API key?

No. Just log in with your usual Qwilr account when your AI tool asks.

Which AI tools work with this?

Most tools that support remote MCP servers, including Claude (web, desktop, and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code.

How do I disconnect it?

Remove the Qwilr connector from your AI tool's own connector settings.

I can't find "Add custom connector" in my tool.

Not every AI tool supports this yet. Check your tool's own documentation to see if and how it does.

Is my data safe?

The Qwilr MCP only works with data in your own account, using the permissions you already have. It can't reach anyone else's data, and anything that changes something asks you to confirm first.
