Why can't my clients see my Splash video playing?

If you've added a video as a background in a Splash block, but your clients only see a static image, here are a few causes:

  • They're viewing on a mobile device - Qwilr automatically switches to a thumbnail image of your video (if one is set on YouTube) when viewed on mobile. This is because many mobile operating systems block video backgrounds and to help save your client's data.
  • They have a caching browser extension - Some extensions like Chrome's data saver will block videos from playing in the background to save on data usage.
