Microsoft Dynamics 365: Installation and Setup
Connecting Qwilr to Microsoft Dynamics 365 lets you create personalized proposals straight from your Dynamics records, with no copying details back and forth between systems. Once it's set up, you'll build templates with variables that pull in data automatically, and you can even send information like updated line items back to Dynamics. This article walks Admins through installing the integration and connecting your Qwilr account, step by step.
Note: This integration is only available on our Growth and Scale (and legacy Enterprise) plans, and these settings are only available to Qwilr account admins. You'll need Dynamics 365 System Administrator access to perform this setup.

Installing the Qwilr app in Dynamics 365
Step 1. Log in to your Dynamics 365 admin account.
Step 2. Log in to your Qwilr account.
Step 3. In Qwilr, head over to your sidebar on the left corner of your dashboard or home page and click on "Integrations".

Step 4. Find or scroll to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 integration, select it, and click Enable Microsoft Dynamics 365. Follow the steps and select your Dataverse environment.

Step 5. Search for Qwilr for Dynamics 365 on Microsoft AppSource.
Step 6. Select Get it now, choose the environment to install into, agree to the terms, and install. The dialog has two consent checkboxes, and Install stays greyed out until both are ticked. Clicking it before then does nothing at all, with no error message and no install record, so it can look like a broken link.
Step 7. Assign the Qwilr Connection User security role to everyone who will use the widget:
Power Platform admin center (https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/) > your environment > Settings > Users + permissions > Security roles.
Find Qwilr Connection User in the list, open the "..." menu beside it, and choose Members, then Add people. Adding people from the role itself lets you add everyone at once, instead of opening each user in turn.

Note: You should not be prompted to pay for the app. If you run into any issues with installation, please get in touch with our team.
Setup on a form
You can use these steps to add the Qwilr widget to any form. If you want to add it to more than one form, just repeat these steps in each. In the example below, we'll add it to the Opportunity form.
Important: add the widget to the main Opportunity form only (Form type: Main). Don't add it to the Quick View or Quick Create forms. Check which main form your sales app actually uses, because a table can have several main forms and an app only includes some of them. On a trial environment, for example, the app used a form called "Sales Trial" and did not include the form named "Opportunity" at all. If you add the widget to a main form your app doesn't use, it simply won't appear, with no error to tell you why. The form selector next to the record name shows which form you're looking at.
Step 1. Go to https://make.powerapps.com/ and open the main Opportunity form (Form type: Main) and select Edit to open the form designer.

Step 2. In the designer, add a 1-column section to the tab where you'd like the widget to appear. Click on Hide label.

Step 3. The widget needs a column to attach to.
Select + New column and enter:
- Display name: Qwilr
- Data type: Single line of text
- Format: Text
- Required: Optional
Leave Advanced options at their defaults. You can untick Enabled for Advanced Find and Allow form fill assistance if you'd prefer. This column is only a binding anchor and never holds a value, so it doesn't need to appear in search or be filled by Copilot. Don't enable column security on it.

Step 4. Drag your new Qwilr column into the section you created.
Step 5. With the column selected, open the Properties tab on the right. Tick Hide label (the widget has its own heading), then under Components select + Component, choose Qwilr, and select Done.
Note: If the Qwilr component isn't visible, click on Get more components and search/select for Qwilr.

Step 6. Leave the component's optional properties blank. You can widen the widget with Form field width if you'd like more room.
Step 7. Select Save, then Publish. You can now view and create Qwilr pages from within an Opportunity.
Finding the Qwilr widget
To see the Qwilr widget, head to any Opportunity record. Open the tab that you created in the previous step.

The first time you (or any of your users) access the widget, you'll be prompted to connect your Qwilr account to your Dynamics 365 account. This is a one-time process for each user. Give it a moment the first time. After you publish a form, the widget usually takes around 30 seconds to appear, and sometimes longer. There's no progress indicator, so refresh the record before assuming something has gone wrong.
If the screen fails after clicking Connect, make sure the user has the Qwilr Connection User security role, and that an administrator has granted consent for Qwilr in your organization. If you have just given that person their Dynamics licence, wait about half an hour and try again. Microsoft's environment directory takes a while to catch up with a new licence, and until it does, enabling the integration or connecting will fail even though the user is licensed and has the right security roles.
What's Next?
Now that you have the integration set up, it's time to create a Microsoft Dynamics 365 template in Qwilr.
Uninstalling
To uninstall Qwilr from Dynamics 365, remove the Qwilr widgets from all of the forms that you added them to. (To do this, follow the setup instructions above, but this time remove the widgets instead of adding them.)
Next, uninstall the Qwilr for Dynamics 365 managed solution from your environment (Power Apps > Solutions > select the solution > Delete).
