Add Package Options to Quotes (Beta)

Qwilr's packages feature gives you flexibility to structure quotes in a variety of ways. It also puts you in control of how your buyer views and interacts with your quote.

In this article:

In this article, we're talking about setting up package options in a Table-style quote. This is a great option for when your packages are detailed.

If you need a simpler, side-by-side presentation, check out our Plan card style quote.

Adding a quote section

You'll use sections to group the various elements of your packages. To add a new section:

  1. Click the + widget adder, or type /.
  2. Choose which section you'd like to add

Alternatively, if you have a quote section already in your Block, you can also click the + symbol at the bottom of the current section.

Note: You can also clone an existing quote section to save time. For more quote-building fundamentals, see this page.

Once you’ve built all the sections of your package, head to the top left corner of the Block. Click the green Quote selection icon.

Choose the option for your needs: Combined Package, Multiple select, or Single select. Curious about how each one works? See the sections below.

If you're using Multiple select or Single select, you might also want to make it mandatory for your buyers to choose an option before they accept the quote. If so, enable the Require a Choice switch, so a selection is forced before they can proceed.

Create a Combined package

This is the default setting for Quote widgets. With this setting, all sections are automatically included in the quote. You can still use optional line items and optional quantities within any section, but your buyer won't be able to select or deselect sections.

If you add the quote total to your Block, it will include all the sections combined.

Create a Single Select package

If you have tiered pricing for different package levels (i.e. Bronze, Silver, or Gold) and you want your buyers to choose only one, use Single select. When you send the quote to your buyer, they'll be able to choose the one section they want.

The quote total will include only the package they chose, plus any sections you've made mandatory.

Create a Multiple select package

If you need to offer a series of optional packages and have your buyer choose several of them, use the Multiple select option. When you send the quote to your buyer, they'll be able to select or deselect any section, so the quote reflects only what they want to buy.

The quote total updates automatically to reflect their selections, plus any sections you've made mandatory.

Making a package mandatory

Sometimes, you'll have a package that needs to be included in the quote no matter what other selections your buyer makes. No problem - you can set any section as mandatory.

Head to the top right corner of the section. Click the Pencil icon. Then choose Selection, and disable the Optional Section switch. You'll see the Select button disappear from this section.
