Creating CRM Templates with Tokens

With our Tokens feature, you'll be able to quickly create CRM templates and then add CRM tokens to pull client data into your Qwilr Pages.

Note: This feature is in the process of rolling out to all customers.

If you don't see the Tokens icon in your page editor yet, please use our original instructions for HubSpot templates and Salesforce templates instead.

Creating a template

Step 1. Make sure your CRM is integrated with Qwilr and enabled. We currently support HubSpot and Salesforce.

Step 2. Next, you'll want to create a template page. To get started with that, create a Qwilr Page. You can start from scratch, use one of our pre-designed templates and make your modifications, or work with your Account Manager if you are on an Enterprise plan.

Step 3. Now that you have a page created, click on the Tokens icon at the top of the page.

Step 4. Use the dropdown menus to select your CRM tool, and then select an object. 

If you use HubSpot, you can choose from these objects:

  • Contacts
  • Companies
  • Deals

If you use Salesforce, you can choose from these objects:

  • Accounts
  • Leads
  • Contacts
  • Opportunities

You can only select one object for each template you create. By setting an object, you're defining where in your CRM tool your template will be available. You're also defining and what tokens will be available to add to your template.

So for example, if you're connected to HubSpot and select the Contacts object, you'll be able to use this new template from within Contact records. You'll also be able to use tokens to pull in Contact details. If you opt for the Deals object, then your template will be available from within Deals and you'll be able to use Deal and Company tokens.

Step 5. When you've selected your CRM tool and object, click Convert to Template. Then click Keep Editing, so you can add some tokens.

Adding a Token

There are two different ways to add tokens to your new template.

Method 1: In the spot where you want a token, type {{ (2 curly brackets). You'll see a menu pop up that shows all of the available tokens in your CRM. You can search the list for an available token, or if you know how the token should start, type in the first few letters to narrow the list down. Once you click on a token or hit Enter, you'll see it added to your page.

Method 2: You'll also see a list of available tokens on the right side of the editor screen. Click on the token you want to use, and it will copy to your clipboard. Then paste it into your page.

Note: The tokens you have available depend on the object you selected. If you are using your template on a Deal or Company object, for example, you won't have access to Contact tokens. This is because deals and companies can have multiple contacts, and the token can't automatically know which contact you're referring to. If you want to pull in contact data, you'll want to create your template in the Contact object.

Editing a Token

To edit a token, click on it to bring the token menu back up. Then select or search for the new token.

Removing a Token

To remove a token, highlight and delete or use the Backspace key.
